Bachelor Completion* Programs
The NGS Bachelor of Science programs are designed to provide opportunities for individuals to meet the requirements of an accredited undergraduate degree while employed on a full-time basis. Students benefit from a curriculum that is sequential, which means that every program course is offered in individual order. As a result, there will never be a time when the next required course is unavailable. Our graduates succeed because they come from diverse backgrounds: science, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, service, biomedical, accounting, DoD, USCG, etc.
This very unique 12 month, 10 course program enables students to earn all of the 60 upper-level (junior and senior) courses necessary for the Bachelor of Science degree by participating in a class session only once each week. Students will earn 30 upper-level (junior and senior) credits by completing the 10 required courses. The curriculum includes an experiential learning component that enables students to earn an additional 15-30 upper-level (junior and senior) credits by compiling a professional portfolio of work and learning experiences following high school. Considered “free electives,” those credits need not be limited to any specific course or area of study.
Since all enrollees must have earned an associate degree (or 60 credits that include the lower-level, freshman and sophomore core credit requirements), and 15 additional upper-level credits, students need only to complete the program courses (30 credits) and document their work and lifelong experiences that qualify for the credits available via the Experiential Learning Portfolio (15-30 credits).
Experiential Learning Portfolio
The Experiential Learning Portfolio is a compilation of the student’s experiences in work, training, volunteer, and other non-academic activities that qualify for the assignment of college-level credit. Students are allowed to document the positive, professional and career-related accomplishments they have accumulated after high school to demonstrate that they have – in fact – “learned” outside the normal classroom setting. Students will be happy to know that many training programs and some seminars qualify for college-level credit as well. Military personnel will benefit from the formal training they have received at the various levels along their career path as nearly every specialty contains valuable college level credit.
