To apply to NGS programs, the following is required:

Bachelor of Science Completion Degree*

  • Associates degree transcript or 60-credit equivalent from an accredited institution that includes the general education core requirements. The accreditation must be recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and/or the Council for Higher Education Association (CHEA). An official high school transcript is required for those submitting transcripts of at least 60 credits without an associate degree.
  • Substantive work or military experience (résumé)
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Personal statements regarding commitment to achieving tangible results
  • Access to and familiarity with computers (including the Internet)

Master of Science Degree

  • Undergraduate degree transcript from an accredited institution. The accreditation must be recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and/or the Council for Higher Education Association (CHEA)
  • Substantive work or military experience (résumé)
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Personal statements regarding commitment to achieving project-related results
  • Access to and familiarity with computers (including the Internet)
  • GRE is not required

Doctor of Business Administration Degree*

  • Master’s degree transcript from an accredited institution. The accreditation must be recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and/or the Council for Higher Education Association (CHEA)
  • Substantive work experience and/or military experience (résumé)
  • Two letters or recommendation
  • Personal statement regarding commitment to achieving project-related results
  • Access to and familiarity with computers (including the Internet)

NGS Black Belt Certificate*

  • Five years minimum of work or military service
  • Familiarity with the principles and best practices of quality systems
  • Project Management experience as team leader or team member
  • Familiarity with data gathering concepts and techniques
  • Familiarity with statistical concepts and best practices
  • Access to the internet and a computer for personal use that is adequate to process required software and assignments.

NGS Green Belt Certificate*

  • Two years minimum of work or military service
  • Familiarity with the principles of quality systems
  • Project Management experience as team member
  • Familiarity with data gathering concepts and techniques
  • Familiarity with statistical concepts
  • Access to the internet and a computer for personal use that is adequate to process required software and assignments.

Note: Applicants for NGS “dual credential” programs, which award both a degree and a certificate, must fulfill pre-requisite requirements for admission for both programs.

NGS Homeland Security Certificate*

  • 5 years minimum of work or military service related to Homeland Security
  • Familiarity with the principles of quality systems
  • Project management experience as team leader or team member
  • Familiarity with data gathering concepts and techniques
  • Access to the internet and a computer for personal use that is adequate to process required software and assignments.

Categories of Acceptance

Full Acceptance

Candidates with strong academic profiles who appear fully qualified i.e.,

  • Satisfy all criteria for admission as listed above
  • Submit appropriate transcript from an accredited institution
  • Holds a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (MS & DBA) or 2.0 (BS)

Conditional Acceptance

Conditional acceptance is for candidates who have every indication of potential success but do not fulfill all of the requirements for full acceptance. Those with conditional acceptance must:

  • Maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 for all coursework in semester one in order to attain full status
  • If a first semester average of 3.0 gpa is not achieved, students will be monitored through the second semester

NGS will require evidence of the prerequisites from every successful applicant. However, as an accredited higher educational institution, NGS understands that each and every applicant has varied ways to make valuable contributions, and will treat each applicant as an individual.

Admission Policies

  1. Billing will occur 30 days prior to the start of the program.
  2. Tuition and fees are subject to change. Tuition and material fees are payable on or before registration at the beginning of each semester. Students receiving Tuition Assistance, Veteran’s Educational Benefits, Student Loans, or other forms of assistance may be eligible to establish different payment options. The Bursar must approve all exceptions to the standard payment plan.
  3. NGS reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the program based on low enrollment.
  4. The National Graduate School retains ownership of all materials delivered by instructor during the program. Only participants who have completed the program may use the materials. They may not be duplicated or reproduced without written consent of NGS.

Completion Requirements

Bachelor of Science Degree Completion Programs

  1. Satisfactorily complete the program of study with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0
  2. Receive no grade lower than a D
  3. Receive no more than 2 grades that are D
  4. Have an associate degree or at least 60 cr. equivalent meeting 30 cr. General Education Core requirements
  5. Complete 15 upper level transfer credits from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and/or the Council for Higher Education Association (CHEA)
  6. Total credits equal to 120 cr.
  7. Be fully accepted
  8. Successfully complete the Bachelor’s Research Project
  9. All tuition and fees must be paid in full

Master of Science Programs

  1. Satisfactorily complete the program of study with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0
  2. Receive no grade lower than a C
  3. Receive no more than 2 grades that are C
  4. Have a bachelor degree and be fully accepted
  5. Successfully complete the Master’s Business Project
  6. All tuition and fees must be paid in full

Doctor of Business Administration

  1. Satisfactorily complete the program of study with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0
  2. Receive no grade lower than a C
  3. Receive no more than 2 grades that are C
  4. Have a master’s degree and be fully accepted
  5. Successfully complete the Doctoral Dissertation Project and juried review of the Dissertation Committee
  6. All tuition and fees must be paid in full

Certificate Programs

  1. Satisfactorily complete the certificate program of study with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0
  2. No grade lower than a “C”
  3. Meet prerequisite requirements
  4. Successfully complete the certificate project
  5. All tuition and fees must be paid in full
