Standard Laptops Provided As Part Of Instructional Materials

Communication via electronic means is an integral part of the Program.

The NGS/UTC programs are not what one thinks of as “on-line” programs. However, through its experience with UTC employees, NGS knows that UTC employees travel the world, often at short notice. And they appreciate staying “connected” via the internet.

NGS/UTC program participants use the Internet:

• to download uniform course materials, assignments and case study through dedicated NGS software
• to communicate with faculty and clarify questions through eMail
• to “chat” with their project teammates
• to move along their work-related projects (MBPs) through collaboration with  external team members, champions and geographically dispersed benchmarking partners.

Consequently, as part of the instructional materials provided to participants, a laptop will be provided to those who:

• have applied through “Apply Yourself,”
• have submitted all NGS and UTC-required paperwork
• have been approved by UTC
• have been accepted by NGS, and
• have completed the on-line initial orientation.
• have completed Course 1

Laptops are not owned or maintained by CSC.  Service and support comes from Dell Computer Corporation only.  Program graduates may retain the laptops.
