Six Sigma - What Is It?

Popularized in the mid-1980’s by Motorola, Six Sigma is the accepted statistical measure for analyzing and reducing defects and waste. Six Sigma certificates are a marketplace requirement by major industry leaders such as General Electric, Boeing and Allied Signal. Morgan Stanley and USA Today note that comprehensive Six Sigma programs drive up company stock values. Black Belts are sought after and are considered valued employees.

It's as Easy as 1-2-3

The NGS Lean Six Sigma Certificate programs follow a 1-2-3 pattern:

  1. Top-level involvement and commitment by senior leadership
  2. Practical training to reduce defects and cost of poor quality
  3. Formal results report-out to verify organizational savings
